My coaching philosophy is rooted in two core principles: fun and skill development.
While winning and team success are important goals, I believe the true measure of a coach lies in their ability to create an environment where young players grow—not just as athletes, but as people.
Skill development and a love for the game are essential to long-term success, and I believe the price to win should never come at the expense of enjoyment, learning, and the team experience.
My mission is to foster a positive environment where every player feels valued and supported. I aim to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and help players develop the tools they need—on the ice and in life.
I began my coaching career in 1988 and have proudly coached from 1988–2013, and again from 2021 to the present.
Between 2001 and 2006, I had the privilege of coaching both Junior C and minor hockey teams.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to lead teams to the OMHA Finals and Semi-Finals seven times.
The relationships, memories, and personal growth I’ve witnessed through coaching are among the greatest rewards of my life, and I remain deeply grateful for every opportunity to be part of a player’s journey.
My favorite NHL coaches are Rick Bowness and Paul Maurice—both of whom exemplify leadership, composure, and respect for the game. As a lifelong fan, my favorite teams are the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets.
